Cleaning a Screen with Pregan Paste

About once every few months I 'deep' clean my screens with pregan paste. The paste is an alkaline paste that removes all the build up of stencil and ghost images off the screen.

Firstly you will need, Pregan paste, an old paint brush, gloves (the paste burns on contact with the skin), and your screen.

Using the paint brush apply a layer (I normally apply a thing layer) onto the screen making sure you cover all the areas that you want to clean. How long you leave the paste is up to you, some people say leave it for 20 minutes and then was it off but I find that its not long enough and there tends to be some stencil left on the screen. I tend to leave it on the screen for about 12 - 24 hours before I clean it off.

After about 14 hours the paste looks like it has 'crystalised' and it is now ready to be washed off. I wash this off using a jet wash on full power, as I put the paste on over the top of the stencil it take a bit longer to wash to wash off than if you apply the paste to a screen that has already been cleaned with pregasol.
