Lovespoon silhouettes

As you may have guessed my new printing obsession is lovespoons! Here are a few silhouettes that I have printed.

(this print is now available on my etsy shop)

This was a bit of an after thought for an up coming craft fair that I attended on the 8th Dec at Dean Forest Railway, I have been thinking about printing onto notepads for a while and I thought that the craft fayre would be the perfect time to print some and see how they do. On the day I sold 2 of the notebooks out of about 20 (but then again the craft fair was a bit on the quiet side). As time was not on my side I bought some cheap A6 note books from ebay to print my design onto.

Lovespoon Pattern

It's no secret that I am a lover of patterns so when I started to draw out the lovespoons in illustrator the intention was to create a pattern using the spoons.

I just kept to the same 5 love-spoon design and just repeated and reflected the design underneath, I then printed the pattern using a metallic copper ink.

I think that this design could work quite well in a canvas/cotton tote bag, think I may give it a go........

Trying out Screen printing on fabric

I've been meaning to try out printing on fabric for a while now and I thought what better time to try it out than now :). I decided to print the fuchsia flower onto the bag and for this I used Speedball's fabric ink.

As this was just a test to how well it would print I wasn't too bothered about there being a few creases in the bag. The bag I used is a cotton based tote bag that I purchased on ebay a few months ago.

The image came out really well (even considering the about of creases in the fabric) Next thing to do now is to test how well this copes going through the washing machine and whether or not the ink will stay put. I will keep you posted.
